Frequently Asked questions

I have held my Provisional 1 licence for more than a year? Can I apply for a Heavy Rigid Licence?

You need to have held your licence for at least 2 years to apply for a Heavy Rigid Licence. However, you can apply for a Light or Medium Rigid Licence! Talk to our team about which course or licence best applies to your current circumstances.

Can I drive a truck without a car licence?

No. In order to undertake our truck driving courses, you need a current NSW car driver licence. We only offer licence upgrades for trucks.

What is a synchromesh gearbox?

A synchromesh gearbox is designed with synchronised gears, making it easier to change gears—more akin to driving a manual transmission car. Truck gearboxes that are not synchronised require ‘double-clutching’ to function properly.
